Ebenezer Ministry Hub

The Dream…

In 1987 Pastor Roy Funu bought this piece of land to build a family home when he re-tires from ministry. In 1989 God called Roy and Janet and their whole family to Australia as the first Missionary family of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) of the Solomon Islands. SSEC is a church that had her spiritual birth in Australia, in Queensland and in Bundaberg during the black birding days of the history of Australia. After 17 years of pastoral ministry in Australia, Pastor Roy was led to establish a Faith Ministry in Australia called the ‘Bundaberg City House of Prayer’ (BCHOP) as his own Ministry to recruit intercessors from the churches in the Pacific Islands. He recruited intercessor teams all year round from the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu since 2006 when he launched this House of Prayer.

In June 2011 Pastor Roy sacrificed his savings of A$5,000 to start building the ‘Ebenezer House Project’ with the vision to generate funds to support his work in the Solomon Islands, South Pacific, Australia and beyond. The work commenced with an Australia Building Supervisor Mr Simon Evans volunteering his time and talents for one year while most of the labourers were Roy’s family volunteering their time to work on this project. Brent Kuine, teams from Bundaberg, as well as others continued the work. The Ebenezer House Project has been going for seven years. More funds are now required to complete this project.

Pastor Roy continues to move forward in FAITH with a vision ‘’To take the gospel back from the end of the earth (Pacific) to Jerusalem where it came from’ and on October 1st 2017 Roy was able to partner with another House of Prayer in Australia and launched the third House of Prayer in Israel on Mount Carmel - the ‘Great Southlands House of Prayer’. This is now a joint venture to provide opportunities for the churches in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island Nations. The goal is to pray for the World Revival to begin from the ends of the Earth so the gospel can return all the way back to Jerusalem. This was a 30-year dream come true. The key platforms for Prayer Evangelism are literally established in the Solomon Islands, Australia and Israel. We now need the financial resources to move our intercessors from one platform to the other.

Ebenezer House Ministry Hub Roy’s focus is now having a ministry Hub rather than a family home. The Ebenezer House Project now carries twofold purposes. Firstly, the whole bottom floor will now be used as ‘CENTRE FOR VARIOUS MINISTRIES’ such as Solomon Islands House of Prayer (a registered charity in the Solomon Islands, which will oversee the administration of Ebenezer House), Awakening the Nations, United Christian Broadcasting, Solomon Islands Laef FM, Christians for Israel etc. Secondly the upstairs home will be rented out to generate funds to help advance the vision of Prayer, Revival, Evangelism and Missions from the Pacific to Australia, New Zealand and beyond, all the way back to Israel. There is a separate one bedroom self-contained unit upstairs which will be available for transit visitors.

A BIG thank you to previous volunteers and donors, and as soon as possible we’d like to recommence work on this project. (Upstairs decking needs to be waterproofed to enable UCB downstairs to complete their office outfitting). We are now focused on raising the funds to complete Ebenezer House in this 7th year.

Approximately A$75,000+ is now required
All donations towards completing this project will be MOST appreciated:
